Anthem Of The Year 2015: We Are The Youth

Rats N' Pucks WhiteWhen Dale Tallon was hired in May of 2010, he sat down at his press conference and said that he was committed to building the Florida Panthers the right way: A professional and championship way. He wanted to make the Florida Panthers a first-class organization from top to bottom. Championship aside, I believe he has already turned this franchise around with the help of Doug Cifu and Vincent Viola.

As the early years of my Panthers fandom, and hockey in general, peaked throughout the 2000’s, one name that always brought a smile to my face was David Booth. Watching him streak across the ice, it would become a tradition to chant, “Boooooth!”, every time that he held the puck.

One of the Panthers strongest players of the last decade, Booth was traded to Vancouver with tears flowing down his face only six games into the 2011-12 season. After four seasons with the Vancouver Canucks and a brief stint with the Toronto Maple Leafs, David Booth has finally returned to a place where he had his most success in the NHL.

The Prodigal Son has returned.
