2015 Calder Cup Playoffs: San Antonio Rampage Give Up 3-0 Lead, Lose 4-3 In Overtime

After holding a 3-0 lead throughout the first half of the game, the Rampage fell back down to Earth with a 4-3 overtime loss to the Oklahoma City Barons. The Rampage gave up three power-play goals on Saturday night, and that ended up being the difference in the game.

2015 Calder Cup Playoffs: San Antonio Rampage Drop Game 1 vs. Oklahoma City Barons

So much for being 31-1-2 when holding a lead after the second period.

After holding a 2-1 lead going into the third period, the San Antonio Rampage gave up two goals and two empty netters as the Oklahoma City Barons were able to escape Game 1 with a 5-2 victory. Although the score may seem lopsided, the game was very close until Ryan Hamilton gave the Barons the lead with 5:55 remaining in the game.

On Wednesday night, the AHL’s San Antonio Rampage will begin their quest for the Calder Cup against the Oklahoma City Barons in the Calder Cup Playoffs. Division winners for the first time in franchise history, the Florida Panthers minor league affiliate hopes to go on a lengthy playoff run and capture the franchise’s first Calder Cup championship.
